AI readiness assessment
Short answer
An AI readiness assessment checks whether your data, processes, systems and people can support AI, and names the first project worth doing. For most small and mid-size businesses the honest result is a short list: one narrow AI use case that can pay off soon, and the data and process fixes it needs first.
What we look at
- Data. Is customer, case and order data complete, consistent, connected and current enough for an AI to answer from it?
- Processes. Which repeated tasks take the most hours: answering the same questions, triaging email, reading forms, summarizing calls, drafting replies?
- Systems. Where data lives, how systems connect, and what an AI agent would need permission to see.
- People and governance. Who owns the data, who approves what the AI says, and how mistakes get caught and corrected.
- Risk. Privacy, recording and disclosure rules for your industry and state, and what must stay with a person.
What you get
- A readiness score by area, in plain language.
- The first one or two AI use cases ranked by value and effort, with what each needs.
- The data and process fixes to do first, in order.
- A fixed-price plan for a proof of concept, before any large commitment.
How it runs
It starts with a free written first pass from a few guided questions, within two business days. If it makes sense to go further, a fixed-price discovery follows: interviews with the people who do the work, a look at real records, and a written plan. Our senior team has 15+ years and 50+ business system implementations behind it, across government, healthcare, real estate, banking, retail, manufacturing and logistics.
Where AI usually pays off first
Answering routine calls and chats from approved information, triaging inbound email into the right queue, reading forms and documents, summarizing calls and cases, and drafting replies for a person to approve. Each works on a narrow slice of data that can be made ready quickly.
Questions people ask
What is an AI readiness assessment?
A structured review of your data, processes, systems, people and risks that tells you whether AI can work in your business today, which use case to start with, and what to fix first.
How long does it take?
The first pass takes about two business days. A full discovery is a fixed-price engagement, typically a few weeks, depending on the number of systems and teams involved.
Do we need clean data before starting with AI?
Not perfectly clean, but the data a use case depends on must be complete, consistent and current enough to answer from. Often the first AI project is partly a data project.
Will you recommend AI even if it is not a fit?
No. If the honest answer is to fix a process or a system first, or not to use AI for that task, that is what the assessment says.
What does it cost?
The first pass is free. Discovery is fixed-price and quoted after the first pass, so you know the cost before you commit.
