AI readiness score

Short answer

Twelve questions, about three minutes. Answer for the one task you would most like to hand to an AI. Nothing is sent anywhere until you ask for the written first pass.

Nothing you enter leaves your browser. The score is calculated on this page; we only hear from you if you click the button at the end to ask for the written first pass.

Data

Can an AI answer from your records without guessing?

1. In a sample of 50 recent customer or case records, how many have the fields an AI would need (contact, status, last interaction, owner) filled in?
2. How often is the same customer entered more than once, or the same status spelled different ways?

Process

Is there one repeated task worth automating, and do you know how it runs?

3. Have you picked one repeated task (answering the same questions, triaging email, reading forms, summarizing calls, drafting replies) and counted its hours?
4. Are the steps written down, including what happens in the unusual cases?

Systems

Could an AI agent reach the data safely, and would anyone know what it did?

5. Is there one agreed system of record for customers, cases and orders?
6. Can systems share data through supported connections and APIs, with the credentials to use them?

People and governance

Who owns the outcome, the data and the mistakes?

7. Is there one leader who owns the result and can make decisions about process, data and budget?
8. Who reviews what the AI produces, and how do corrections get back into the system?

Risk and compliance

What must stay with a person, and what rules apply to your data and your customers?

9. Do you know which data is personal, regulated (health, financial, minors) or confidential, and where it lives?
10. Do you know the recording, disclosure, consent and fairness rules that apply to your industry and states?

Value and economics

Is the prize worth the work, and would you know if you won?

11. Do you know what the task costs today in hours, dollars, delays or errors?
12. Have you agreed what number must move, by how much, for the pilot to be a success?

Questions people ask

How is the score calculated?

Each answer is a level from 0 to 3. The two answers for a dimension are averaged, the six dimensions are weighted (data counts most, then systems), and the result is scaled to 0-100. Four answers act as gates: if one of them is a zero, the page says what that blocks, whatever the total is.

Is a high score a go-ahead for an AI project?

No. Twelve self-reported answers are a starting point. The full assessment scores 24 criteria with evidence on the table, and the honest result is often a data project first.

Does anything get sent when I score?

No. The questions are scored by the page in your browser. If you copy a link to your score, the twelve answers are in the link itself, nothing else. We only hear from you if you ask for the written first pass.

What happens if I ask for the written first pass?

You describe the situation in a few guided questions on the home page. Within two business days you get a written first pass: the likely first use case, what to fix before it, and whether a discovery is worth doing. Or an honest no.
